Comments from our Guests:

Hi Ken. Just a quick note to say that we enjoyed our stay this weekend at the  Applehouse. We loved the location, and enjoyed grilling on the deck, building  fires in the fireplace, and sitting by the river. We very much appreciated  Jill's hospitality and the cleanliness and comforts of the place! We will check in with you again next time we plan a trip to the mountains

We really enjoyed our stay in the Sunflower. I caught my limit of trout on Friday afternoon. I haven’t done that in a while. We want to inquire about the apple house possibly for our next visit. What are your available weekends in August? The McNeills  June 2011

We just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed staying in your cabin this week.  The Applehouse was charming and we are already planning our next trip up there.  We'll let you know as soon as possible to ensure it is available.
Jill was a doll. She met us there and showed us around the cabin at our check-in.
We went to Chimney Rock, the Biltmore and did some hiking on the Blueridge. We also got to do a little strolling around Chimney Rock Village and Lake Lure.  By far, our favorite thing was just sitting on the deck of theApplehouse and listening to the river.
Thank you again and we look forward to another stay soon,  The Williams, Vero Beach, FL  May 2011

Restful and relaxing you can't beat the location. Have been coming back for over 10 years. The river is perfect. You can do as little or as much as want. You can fish out the back door. Close to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and Asheville for shopping to keep the wife happy    Paul from  Orlando, Fl  March 2011

The river makes a wonderful sound at night that creates a soothing atmosphere within the cabin and on the deck. Its a great place to convert stress to a willful likeness of nature  Miny from Charlotte  March 2011

My family & I had a great time in Bat Cave. The cabin was very cozy. ... The huge enclosed porch overlooking the river was perfect for the kids to play games and for the adults to relax and wake up with a great view while waking up with a cup of coffee in the am.   On the drive back to Fl the kids kept trying to "work a deal" to go back next year.     Mike from  Tampa, Fl  Dec 2010

Hey there....I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you again what a WONDERFUL time we all had. It was soooo great having the entire place to ourselves....visiting with each other, sitting by the fire with a glass of wine, playing in the river, fishing....we really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks again for everything! The Butlers from Woodruff, SC and the Thomas' from Andrews, SC   October 2010

Ken,  We really enjoyed our stay at the Sunflower, it was exactly the something different that we wanted.  I even caught a few nice Trout. We hiked Chimney Rock on Saturday.  We will Call about future reservations.  Thanks.

We want to thank you for a AWESOME time!!!!!!   it was soooooooo peacefull... Everything was great....We loved the cabin, the river running in back was one of the most relaxing  sounds we have ever had. We saw Chimney Rock, Mount Mitchell, Triple Falls and rented a pontoon boat on  Lake  James[125.00 a day]  vs 500.00 at Lake Lure!!! Beautifull!!!! You made our vacation/honeymoon perfect...Again, thanks for the great time and we will be back...
Keith and Beth Duke   July 2010

Ken,  Just wanted to thank you for your hospitality this weekend.  Our family had a wonderful visit.  The children loved the river (as a matter of fact they didn’t want to leave the house to visit Chimney Rock or the Sandburg Home, etc., but we took them anyway J).  They swam for 2-3 hours each day!  The house was very comfortable.  We very much appreciated Jill, who was always kind and available..   I guess the best indicator was that each member of my family, at one point or another during the weekend, came to me and said “we’ve got to come back here again and soon!”  We really hope to visit again soon -- just wanted to say thanks.         Chaplain John Painter and family,  Charleston, SC   May 2010

Thank you for setting us up Thursday night in the Blueberry cabin. My family had a great time this weeekend and somehow you made it snow while we were there. I will be recommending your place to all my friends and family. What a view! Can’t wait to come back and try a little fishing and tubing.     C Yeazel,     Sebring, Fl      Jan 2010

Let me take this opportunity to tell you what a wonderful 2 days Larry and I spent in the Berry Patch cabin.  Also let me brag on your manager Jill Lockhart, she was bubbling over with personality and full of information for us to see while we were there.  My husband Larry caught 4 rainbows off the rocks  ..It was heavenly to be in your beautiful cabins...

The first thing that comes to mind is W O W!!!!!   You were right, we barely stepped a foot off that deck, how relaxing.  It was so hard to leave.  The cabin is so beautiful and well maintained and you've kept to it's age and character.. Being right on the river, yet close to pick up supplies was an added bonus.   Kim, Pam and  Teia,     Hendersonville, NC    June 2009

Ken, I just wanted to write to tell you that Steve and I had a wonderful vacation. The cabins in Bat Cave were outstanding! We were comfortable and the location was close to many things that we enjoyed. We will definitely do business w/you again. Many, many thanks for your kindness and hospitality    P Travis  Sept 2008

Again, thank you for affording my family the opportunity to create everlasting memories of our stay in Hickory Nut Gorge.
The Bauers'  June 2008

I wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time last week at the cabins in Bat Cave.  The weather was great and the fishing was even better.  Between me, my father, and my brother, we caught more than 150 trout just down from the cabins.  Jill was very helpful during the week and the cabin was great.   Thanks to the both of you for a wonderful vacation.
